So, I know a fair few friends on here live, or have lived, in London.

I have been offered a job in London (starting October-ish, near Liverpool Street Station), and am trying to decide whether or not to accept.  I like having this decision/the offer, but am really not sure what to do.

My general thoughts on London can be summed up by "eww, expensive big city", but the job etc. looks good, and I know many people enjoy living there.

Any thoughts on things to consider appreciated....

:P Is it in/around Ilford that you're based? <20mins direct train if so isn't bad, so definitely a possibility *if* I do go for the role...

Monthly/annual travelcards - do you have to specify stations, or just zones? A couple of TFL webpages seem to contradict each other. (Balancing rent reductions vs. increased travel costs)

Wurgle. I should probably just wait and see what happens with the final interview for the Brum equivalent and then consider more....

We are near Ilford - specifically in Gants Hill/Redbridge, which is about 20 mins on the Central Line into Liverpool St.

My travel guru says it's just zones you specify for travelcards (which sounds right to me, too).

Do I recall K is in Leytonstone? Because that's in our general area and also on the Central Line (in fact probably about 15 mins into Liverpool St)

Wurgle indeed! :)

Yeah, that kind of area has now been recommended by a fair few people :) Decisions are scary...
